Welcome to the first episode of Monday Night Update. In this first episode, I talk about the purpose of the video series, give New Year’s wishes, mention a cool Google product, talk about the coolness of blogging, and state my personal goal of 2009.
Formats available:Windows Media (.wmv), Flash Video (.flv)
So basically you’re slacking off at work, eh? Just kidding – happy new year Chad!
Nice job! The video from your Flip looks pretty good. This clip and the one you did last month showing a day at work are making me wonder if I want to get a Flip, too. Am also wondering if you’ll want to create a category in your blog for these videocasts.
I’ve tried switching from Bloglines to Google Reader about 3-4 times since Google Reader was first launched, and I still can’t make the switch. I’m trying it again now with a much smaller set of subscriptions, but I still think that the left hand navigation is too dominant on the screen (I realize that I can selectively close that pane, but I find that unhelpful).
Thanks, Stephen. I highly recommend the Flip. It’s cheap and easy to use, and the video quality is decent for what it is.
You’re correct, I probably should create a category for my video blogging. I use Blip.tv, which I can set to automatically cross-post to my various blogs. Unfortunately, you don’t have any control over the category, so everything gets posted in “General” (and I forget to go back and fix this.) I’m very new to the videoblogging scene, so I’m sure I’ll pick up some more tips and tricks with more experience.
Thanks Stephen, and John, for stopping by and watching. Tune in next week for another episode. 😉
Stephen, I’ve since put all the videos under the category “vlog.” Thanks for the recommendation.
