Via AdverBlog:

Samsung just launched an online campaign to promote the supposed iPhone killer, the Samsung Instinct. First there is a campaign website including a fun product placement programm. But more innovative is the interactive short movie ‘Follow Your INSTINCT’, which can be watched on YouTube only. The movies are connected through YouTube annotations, which makes it the first commercial use of annotations I’ve seen so far. Pretty cool, simpel(sic) and interactive.

Take a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoOCiaxIZF4 .

It’s almost like choose your own adventure, and makes me ponder how we might do something like this for a library video tour. Thoughts??

I found this today here:

“The most important part of a bike is the nut that connects the handlebars to the seat.”

Dude.  That’s deep.

The guys over a buttonmashing have a post about finishing games. I’ve got a pretty good backlog of games to complete, or at least to play to a point of satisfaction, so I’m always interested when this topic comes up.  The comments on the post are pretty good to read as well.  A couple of the comments are worth noting:

That being said, time is the biggest factor. Work, kids and other tasks take priority. I’d love to have 2-3 hours a day free to play, but it usually turns out to be a lot less than that.

With two kids and a full-time job, I’ve finally come to the realization that I just can’t play every game the second it comes out, nor should I. I’m trying to not buy any games (aside from the odd Downloadable game) this summer in order to focus on playing through my backlog.

My lunchtime ride today:

Not a bad ride once I got out of town.  1:02 total time.

Alright, as promised today we’re kicking off the rejuvenated Game Club with a group play through of fan favorite of Beyond Good & Evil. If you’re interested in playing through a game along side a group of friends and then discussing the deeper meaning of the game and its plot, don’t forget to hop in.

We will be meeting weekly, on Monday’s at 9:30 p.m. Eastern, though this month with the holiday and E3, is going to have an odd schedule. I’m pretty sure it will be easy to get through the game in four meetings. So let’s plan on our first meeting to start on July 7 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. Just come to the site and look for the Game Club Beyond Good & Evil Discussion post.

In this first assignment for Beyond Good & Evil you’ll need to complete the the Black Isle Mines section of the game. Make sure you don’t play past that point because I’d like us all to be on the same page, so to speak. After playing through the chunk, try to think up some interesting questions and discussion topics. I will have a list of my own, but I’m hoping we can all ask each other interesting things to discuss.

BG&E is a great game that does encourage a great deal of thought and social commentary.  This has me thinking about digging my copy of the game out and playing through again.  For full details, visit the post at Kotaku.
